Minnesota Rural Partners, Inc. (MRP, Inc.) celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2009 as a non-profit corporation that “makes connections to help Minnesota thrive.”
We have organized initiatives to strengthen rural-urban partnering, increase community entrepreneurship as a statewide economic development strategy, and support continued broadband deployment and applications to build 21st century communities.
MRP, Inc. began as a support organization to the Minnesota Rural Partners, one of nearly 40 state rural development councils officially sanctioned by the USDA as a member of the National Rural Development Partnership.
For several years, there has been no federal funding for this federal partnership, but MRP, Inc. has maintained a presence as a bridge-building organization between rural and urban communities, organizations, people & issues.
We strive to make a difference by promoting services, tools, and events that help communities connect, create, and thrive. Our cuurent initiative is ReinventingMinnesota — to boost the sharing of ideas and best practices that help make Minnesota the best it can be. This summer we are co-sponsoring the 25th Anniversary Community Pride contest with the Minnesota State Fair and MinnPost.com to kickstart Reinventing Minnesota.
